WHAT IT IS
Perhaps the fastest and one of the more physically intense forms of yoga, Power Yoga is focused on combinations of more quickly-paced movements, as you work through varying series of asana. It may incorporate elements of Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Hatha and other forms of yoga.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Harness your inner fire to propel you through your Power Yoga practice. Sequences are designed to push you physically, generating detoxifying heat and sweat, exercising your muscles and structural systems (and lungs!), and challenging and training your endurance. It’s particularly important to be well-hydrated before starting your class.
BENEFITS
If you are seeking more of a workout- or physical fitness-based yoga practice, Power Yoga may be for you. It may be more challenging for beginner yogis, given the faster pace and flow of asana, but the beauty of the VIVAYANOW classes is the ability to work with your instructor(s) one-on-one to create a class that works for you.
