Tension & Trauma Releasing (TRE®) is an innovative set of simple exercises helps individuals release stress and tension as a result of difficult life circumstances, immediate or prolonged stressful situations, or traumatic life experiences. 

TRE® helps to evoke the psoas muscles (a major set of muscles where we often store physical, emotional, and mental stress in our bodies) to release neurogenic tremors. Shakes and tremors can occur spontaneously after stressful or traumatic events as a natural recovery response.  TRE® normalizes this response and can be used to ‘debrief the body’ after critical incidents, as part of standard recovery routines to help build ‘neurobiological resilience’ in the nervous system over time.

When continued into our daily lives and as part of our self care routine, it can assist in the calmness and regulation of our nervous system which can often be in a state of overwhelm. However, the beauty is on the mat where you are reintroduced to your very primal shaking mechanism found within every human and mammal on the planet. This practice is a beautiful connection to our 'rest and restoration' nervous system, the parasympathetic.
