WHAT IT IS
Caring for and celebrating your body can become a differently empowering and intimate experience when expecting. Prenatal Yoga nourishes the life force that sustains both you and the life growing inside you.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Pregnancy is experienced differently by every woman. Prenatal yoga honors this individuality, and teachers carefully design classes to best support your needs. This may involve simple modifications to a familiar practice, be it through adjusting form or using supportive props, or moving through a different series more suited to how you are currently feeling and your changing body. Asana and different exercises that may help strengthen the abdomen and pelvic floor may be included.
Any and all pregnant women should consider Prenatal Yoga. While it is an especially important time to speak with your doctor about any potential physical activity parameters, Prenatal Yoga can be appropriate for any expecting mother as it can be accommodated and adjusted to fit your needs. Whether moving and breathing on your mat, or being guided through a calming yogic meditation with soothing pranayama while on bedrest, there are options for all. If you have a partner, it can also be enriching for them to observe or join in on your practice.
