I am a Yoga + Meditation teacher and Ayurvedic Health Coach currently living and teaching in the Bay Area. Having first come to yoga as a climber looking to add a bit more balance to my usual routine, my way into the practice of yoga was very strength-based. I fell in love with asana. I loved the way my yoga practiced allowed me to feel strong and capable in my body and enjoyed the playful aspects of arm balances and handstands. Slowly over time, my practice began to shift to embrace more of the subtle aspects of yoga such as pranayama, meditation, and mantra, where I found even more strength and capacity. My practice and teaching are a blend of both as I honor and value movement and stillness and all that can be taught by each. Above all else, I am a student and am fueled by the endeavor toward greater self-understanding. These lessons have come in so many forms in my life from the study of Yoga and Ayurveda, to those learned while becoming a teacher (of geology first and Yoga later), through meditation, rock-climbing, trail-running, reading, and so much more. I am drawn to pursuits that help me better understand myself, my evolution, and my own happiness. I consider myself unbelievably blessed to be living my purpose and sharing the teachings and wisdom of Yoga and Ayurveda with others. In my teaching, I blend the practices of yoga asana, pranayama, and meditation with an understanding of Ayurveda and how it can inform our modern lives. There is no "one-size-fits-all” yoga practice and each of us thrives in our own unique blend of practices that meet our current needs. I hope to help you discover that and to help you find what best supports, bolsters, and nourishes you as you create your happiest, healthiest life.
