Nicole Johns


"If you can breathe, you can practice yoga."

Nicole’s first yoga experience was in the backroom of a loud gym in 1999. That was the beginning of a 20-year journey that has included a variety of yoga styles and depth of practice. Nicole completed her 200 hr YTT at Dragon Spirit Arts Studio in 2019. She continues to seek opportunities to learn more about yoga philosophy and ways to make yoga accessible to all. Nicole’s current practice is focused on meditation, embodiment, and breath. She most enjoys helping others develop sustainable home practices and sharing yoga with folks who think yoga isn’t for them. Nicole’s teaching style is body-positive, playful, and gentle. Nicole continues her studies to help make her offerings accessible. In 2020 she completed a Chair Yoga Training and is pursuing her certificate to lead Y12SR Recovery Meetings. Nicole lives in suburban Philadelphia with her family. Her other interests include: taking care of a Little Free Library, advocating for justice in public health and education, and nurturing a medicinal garden.

My Philosophy

I believe yoga is for everyone because we all have breath. From this foundation of breath, our practice is built. I love teaching beginners. I work to bring a beginner's mind to every practice. After 20 years of practice and study, I know how little I know and what wonders there are still yet unknown and unexplored.
