About this class

Treat yourself to a traditional class of Hatha Yoga with a hint of contemporary, topped with a twist of modernity, with a yoga instructor from India, who will lead you on a journey to (re) discovering your breath, body and self.

I teach a blended form of Ashtanga (8 limbs) and Hatha (asanas) yoga. The sun and moon salutation serves as a warm up to the asanas (poses) which are held for half a minute. The emphasis is stretching and the breath, wherein we lengthen the hold time to quieten the mind. I introduce variations, conduct Pranayam (breathing) and a short yoga nidra (yogic sleep) at the end of the session. I introduce lower back and core strengthening exercises to ensure a safe practice. We practice on an empty stomach, use a yoga mat or dhurry, and wear loose comfortable clothing.
